Chiropractic Manipulation:

This is also referred to as an "adjustment" and is a specific manipulation a chiropractor performs to a body part (most commonly an area of the spine) that has an abnormal movement pattern or fails to function normally. The main objective of the manipulation is to correct the abnormality, increase range of motion, decrease nerve irritability, and restore proper function.

Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine:

Traditional Chinese Medicine is based off of the belief that the body is made up of energy flow known as "chi" or "qi". An imbalance of this "chi" (qi) is what causes disease. The practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine uses acupuncture and herbs to restore this balance in order to restore health.

Instrument Aided Muscle Mobilization / Graston®

The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. See Graston Technique's Website for more information

Kinesiotaping:

The Kinesio Taping® Method involves taping over and around muscles in order to assist and give support or to prevent over-contraction. The first technique gives the practitioner the opportunity to actually give support while maintaining full range of motion. This enables the individual to participate in their normal physical activity with functional assistance. The second technique, which is most commonly used in the acute stage of rehabilitation, helps prevent overuse or over-contraction and helps provide facilitation of lymph flow for an entire 24 hour period (definition as per Kinesiotaping Institute).

The Kinesio Taping Method has taken the Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine world by storm. Developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase nearly 25 years ago in Japan, Kinesio Taping has become the gold standard for therapeutic rehabilitative taping. The proprietary method of taping uses a uniquely designed and patented tape for treatment of muscular disorders and lymphedema reduction.

Exercise Prescription:

The prescription of specific exercises to a patient in order to help obtain a specific goal or to aid in the progression of their rehabilitation program.

Massage Therapy:

A therapy used in conjunction or on it's own to aid in the treatment of a patient in order to increase range of motion and break up trigger points and fibrous adhesions/ scar tissue. Various body work techniques are used to achieve this and include many techniques from a general Swedish massage to a more deep tissue technique such as Sports massage.

Custom Orthotic Fitting:

An individualized consultation and evaluation is done of not only your feet, but also the way you walk and carry yourself. This is followed by a scan of your feet to see how they bare your weight. The scan and evaluation are compiled, sent out, and orthotics are made that are specific to the patient. Research has supported that orthotics have helped in relieving conditions such as common back pain.
